AT-HM Scheme
AT-HM funds Assistive Technology and Home Modifications as two separate, needs-based budgets — tiered Low $513 / Medium $2,052 / High $15,390 each, allocated every 12 months. It sits entirely outside your ongoing quarterly budget.
What the AT-HM scheme is for
AT-HM covers two distinct needs: Assistive Technology — aids and equipment that help with daily tasks or mobility — and Home Modifications — changes to the home itself, such as grab rails, ramps, or bathroom modifications, that make it safer to live in. They are assessed and funded as separate budgets, and a participant can draw on both at once if assessed as needing both.
How the funding works
| Tier | Amount |
|---|---|
| Low | $513 |
| Medium | $2,052 |
| High | $15,390 |
Each tier applies separately to the Assistive Technology and Home Modifications budgets. Allocations do not accrue or roll over between 12-month periods.
- Assistance-dog maintenance is funded at the same rate as the Medium tier — $2,052/year.
- The scheme also includes a percentage-based remoteness supplement for MM6/7 areas — ask My Aged Care or your provider for the current amount, as Carevista does not yet publish this figure.
My Aged Care's consumer page shows rounded "nominal" figures (Low $500 / Medium $2,000 / High $15,000, last updated November 2025). Carevista shows the exact current amounts from the indexed schedule — the legally operative figures — rather than the rounded consumer summary.
