Funding levels explained
Support at Home gives eligible Australians a government-funded annual budget to spend on in-home care. There are 8 levels — Level 1 is for people with basic needs, Level 8 is for people with very complex needs. Your level is assigned after a government assessment through My Aged Care.
All 8 Funding Levels
Minimal support to stay independent. Occasional help with everyday tasks like cleaning, meals, or getting to appointments.
Regular help with daily tasks — cleaning, meals, transport, or light personal care a few times per week.
More frequent assistance across personal care, meals, mobility, and some clinical support.
Consistent personal care, nursing visits, allied health, and social support across multiple days per week.
Frequent support across multiple service types, including restorative care and dedicated care management.
Complex care needs including dementia support, daily personal care, and specialist clinical services.
Intensive nursing, specialised clinical care, and high-frequency daily support across most service types.
Maximum government support for people with very complex, palliative, or end-of-life care needs.
